Alice Louise Hallam

August 6, 1920 — April 7, 2016

Alice “Louise” Hallam 95 of Streator passed into her eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Thursday afternoon (April 7th) at Heritage Health in Streator, Illinois.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 am with funeral services at 11 am at Central Church of Christ, 2001 East Main St. in Streator with Dr. Rory Christensen officiating. Burial will be at Phillips Cemetery.

The Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born to Archibald and Rosa (Black) Holt on August 6th 1920. She was the third of 11 siblings, all of which preceded   her in death. Her sisters were Dorothy (Frank) Shriver, Mary (Logan) Sliker, Deloris Bales, Edith (Elton) Norris, Dixie (Ted) Hallowell, Brothers Victor (Mary) Holt, Carl (Bernice) Holt, William (Lola) Holt, Ralph (Joann) Holt, and Clifford (Emily) Holt.

She was the wife of Raleigh Hallam who preceded her in death in 1974. She was a homemaker for most of her life and raised her children: daughters Bonna, Jean (Edward) Iverson and Glenda Piacenti of Porter, Texas, Sons Ronald “Bud” (Betty) Hallam of Dallas City, Illinois, and Thomas (Diane) Hallam of Streator. She has 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 8 great- great -grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her daughters Bonna (Clifford) Holt and Jean Iverson and son in law Edward Iverson.

She worked at JG Vending and in the kitchen of ST. Mary’s Hospital. She loved children and served in the nursery of Central Church of Christ for many years. She was a member of the Win-A-Couple Sunday School class at her church.  She enjoyed crocheting, making hundreds if not thousands of beautiful, intricate projects.

Memorials may be made to Central Church of Christ.
