Barbara J. Dodd, 69 of Schaumburg and formerly Grand Ridge passed away Sunday (Sept. 18th) at St. Alexis Medical Center in Hoffman Estates after a long bout with cancer.
A visitation will be held on Saturday from 1PM until 2:30PM at the Grand Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:30PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grand Ridge Cemetery.
Barbara was born on December 22, 1942 in Champaign, IL to James and Mary Catherine (Young) Dodd.
Surviving are sisters, Judy Horn of Grand Junction, Co., Connie (Roger) Crome of Sycamore, IL, Diane Gebhardt of Crest Hill, Marsha Dodd of Ottawa and Suzanne Dodd of Streator, brother, Stephen Dodd of Shabbona, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and niece Kristen Marie Dodd in infancy.
Barbara attended Grand Ridge grade school and graduated from Ottawa High School in 1961. She worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. Barbara received her Bachelor's degree and Master's Degree.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer or the Grand Ridge Grade School Library.
