Bessie J. Gray

Bessie J. Gray, 84 of Streator passed away Wednesday (June 3, 2020) at the Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center.

Following cremation, a memorial visitation will be held Monday from 5 – 7 PM. at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, social distancing practices will followed at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.

Bessie was born on November 26, 1935 in Streator to Hyram and Sylvia (Lucas) Henson.  She married Lowell Gray March 16, 1951. He preceded her on January 19, 2003.

Surviving are children; Hanne Goluba of Streator, Teresa (Al) Harmon of Streator, Sylvia Gray of Streator, Kristy (Tom) Roth of Wisconsin and Ronald (Rebecca) Blue Jr of Streator , 20 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren & 5 great-great-grandchildren, brother, Delbert (Marianne) Henson of Mount Vernon.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, former husband Ronald Blue Sr, son, David, grandson Bradley Mertes, granddaughters; Kasandra Rexroad and  Hope Rogers, brother, Orville Henson and sisters, Rose Lee and Annabelle Melvin.

Bessie attended Cornell Grade School and was a member of the Church of the Open Bible.

Memorials may be made in her name to either the Streator Salvation Army or Alzheimer’s Association.
