Betty Ann Brunton, 83 formerly of Streator passed away peacefully at 12:02 AM Tuesday (July 4th) at Collinwood Assisted Living (Memory Care Unit) in Fort Collins, CO.
A memorial service will be held Saturday (July 22nd) at 11 AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Memorial visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Betty was born on February 4, 1934 in Streator to Paul and Blanche (Frye) Vosberg. She married Ray Brunton on May 28, 1955. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1985.
Surviving are daughters Cynthia (Gary) Eggleston of Lake Geneva, WI, Becky (Loren) Strauch of Fort Collins, CO, son Daniel (Arhely) Brunton of Lake in the Hills, IL, grandchildren Chris Hallam of Streator, Steven (Ashlee) Eggleston of Elkhorn, WI, Michelle Eggleston of Raleigh, NC, Danny and Nicole Brunton of Lake in the Hills, 2 great-grandchildren Madisen Hallam of LaSalle, Brayden Eggleston of Elkhorn, WI and a sister Shirley Stickler of Loveland, CO.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister in infancy and a brother-in-law Duane Stickler.
Betty lived in Streator most of her life. She moved to Siren, WI to be with her close friend Frank Hartman until his death in May of 2002. Betty moved back to Streator and spent her remaining years in Fort Collins, CO. She was retired from Thatcher Glass and was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Streator and the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Fort Collins.
Betty enjoyed her retirement years with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed trips to the casino.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
