Betty Jean (Moats) Hickman

Betty J. Hickman, 88 formerly of Streator, passed away on Sunday, December 26th, 2021in Spring Valley, IL.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:30 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Betty was born in Henry, IL on September 2, 1933.

She is survived by daughter, Andrea Mital Jones, Rome, Georgia, son, Jeffery David Mital, Burlington, NC, and grandsons Andrew Jones and Cameron Jones. Sister Mary Svetz and brother Bob Moats also survive, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by parents Harlan Moats and Josephine Adams Moats, sister Wilma Darm, brothers Jim Moats, Ronnie Moats, Lee Moats, Dave Moats, and infant son Gregory David Mital.

She was employed as a glass selector, and had many hobbies and interests including gardening, reading and political discussion. She valued education, and held associate degrees in English and Art.
