Betty Jean Mills

Betty J. Mills, 94 of Streator and formerly of Ancona peacefully passed away Wednesday afternoon (September 25, 2024) at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A visitation will be held Tuesday from 10a.m. – 12 noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at the funeral home with burial following at the Ancona Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be great grandsons, Kort Davies, David Voytko, Keegen and Kamden Emm, Michael and Logan Mills, Drayke Chalkey and grandson Randy Tunget.

Betty was born on August 14, 1930, in Odell to William and Imogene (VanDolah) Taylor. She married John Mills on February 1, 1948. John passed away on August 12, 2016.

Surviving are sons, Mike (Tara) Mills of Streator, Dave Mills of Streator, daughter Audrey Klein of Pontiac, 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sons Jerry, Tom and Pat Mills, 2 brothers Orville and Robert Taylor, grandson William, granddaughter Kimberly, great grandson Matthew and great granddaughter Summer.

She attended Cornell Grade School and High School. Betty enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing, watching westerns and spending time with her family. She was also a caretaker of the Ancona Cemetery for many years and a member of the Central Church of Christ.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Ancona Cemetery Association.
