Betty Louise Peterson, 90, of Peru and formerly of Streator passed away Monday evening (March 26th) at Heritage Health in Peru.
A visitation will be held Friday from 1 – 2 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 PM at the church with Rev. Bill Callister officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
The Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandchildren Todd Coates and Toby Coates, Scott Simons, Matt Anderson, Stacy Anderson and Emily Crow.
Betty was born on August 7, 1927 in Chicago to Mort and Mary (Monts) Cave. She married Elliott (Pete) Peterson on December 30, 1976. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2014.
Surviving are, daughters Georgene Kirschbaum of Peru, Julie (Richard) Maierhofer of Seneca, son-in-law Curt Simons of Streator, grandchildren Todd (Pam) Coates, Toby (Amy) Coates, Stacy (Matt) Anderson, Scott (Anna) Simons, Jena (Michael) Sheedy, Jill (Chad) Caputo and Janelle (Andrew Chamberlain) Maierhofer, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sharon Simons, son Paul Peterson, sisters Violet Castleton and Rosemary Cave in infancy.
Betty was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was formerly employed by DOORS and retired from Bakelite in Ottawa.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice in her name.
