Betty Jean Wester

Betty J. Wester, 94 of Streator passed away Friday (June 16^th) at her home.

Following cremation, a graveside service will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at the St’s Peter & Paul Cemetery, Leonore.

Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born on May 29, 1923 in Pontiac to Walter and Elsie (Hinners) Pemberton.  She married Vitus “Mike” Wester on July 17, 1951.  He preceded her in death on July 30, 2010.

Surviving is a daughter, Helen Harsted of Streator, 3 grandchildren, Brad Harsted, Melinda (Bruce) Park and Kevin Harsted, 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Bob Harsted, sisters, Herbel Lower and Georgia Berg.

Betty attended Lincoln Grade School and Pontiac Township High School.  In her younger years she worked at the Livingston County Court House and in her later years she worked at the Streator Swimming Pool as the cashier.
