Calvin Glenn Loy, 87, of Peoria and formerly of Streator passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at the Illinois Veteran Home in Quincy, IL
He was born Feb. 15, 1925 in Thayer, IA to Clyde Earl and Ruth Forrest (Glen) Loy. He married Betty Jo Wood on Oct. 31, 1953. She preceded him in death in 1977. He married Mary Jane Cunningham on July 8, 1978, she passed away on January 17, 1995. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Rodney, daughter, Regina; Step-Granddaughter Kassie Frazier, 3 brothers, Kenneth, Donald, Junior Dale; and sister, Margaret Alice.
Surviving are 5 daughters, Cindy Loy of TX, Glenda Loy of Peoria, Tina Loy of Dunlap, Connie Leavitt of CO, Ashley Loy of Streator, Step-daughters, Gina Frazier of Texas, Lisa Parsons of MO, Chrisann Frazier of Aurora, Nikki Papenburg of Streator, 8 grandchildren; 11 Step-Grandchildren,1great-granddaughter; and 5 Step-Great-grandchildren, sister, Dorothy Buckingham; and 2 brothers, Raymond and Richard Loy.
Calvin was a United States Navy Korean War Veteran. He worked as a welder at Peabody-Myers Mfg and Voigts Mfg before retiring. He enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing and spending time with his friends and family.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 6PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 6PM at the funeral home. Burial was in the Long Point Cemetery.
