Passed away Thursday (Jul. 30) at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, IL.
Visitation will be Tuesday (Aug.4) from 6-8PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Services will be Wednesday (Aug. 5) at 10AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park with flag folding ceremonies by the Streator VFW and the Streator American Legion.
Born October 12, 1920 in Mitchell, South Dakota to George Elmer and Pearl (Stickler) Hedden.
He married Mary Bell Westerhold on January 31, 1942. She passed away March 4, 2003.
Surviving are son, Mel (Annette) Hedden, Manhattan, IL, Daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Bakalar, Peoria, AZ Sandi (Tom) Hassler, Morris, IL, 5 Grandchildren, Mike Paull, Todd Tomasko, Allison Hedden, Becky (Mike) Ende, and David Hedden, and 4 Great-Grandchildren, Jason and Bobby Tomasko and Branden and Chris Paull.
He was preceded in death by his wife, and a brother, Lloyd Hedden.
He attended grade school and Jr. High in Mitchell, South Dakota and Graduated Ottawa High School in 1939.
He was a Crew Leader at Owens Glass in Streator, Illinois.
He was a life member of the VFW.
He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Army.
He was a former member of the Hope Methodist Church in Streator.
