Charlie Gene Carroll

Charlie Gene Carroll, 78 of Streator passed away Wednesday (December 28, 2022) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Funeral services will be held Saturday (Jan. 14^th) at 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Clifford Webb officiating.  A visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of services.

Charlie was born on November 15, 1944, in Como, Mississippi to Willie and Beatrice (Deberry) Carroll.

Surviving are children, Christina Carroll, Charlie Carroll Jr, Caronell Carroll all of Arizona and Jasmine Gullens of LaSalle, step son Lester Jones of Arizona, grandchildren, Dayvondrik, Javon, Abdul Qawi of LaSalle, Ashley, Alan, Marie, Deja, Kiara and Anisa, siblings, Willie (Thelma) Carroll of Kankakee, Doris (Eddie) Williams of Memphis, TN, Lillie Carroll of University Park, IL, Linda Robinson of Memphis, TN and Don L. Deberry of Los Angeles, CA and his long-time companion Alma Washington of Streator.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Rose Mae Carroll.

Charlie attended school in Como, Mississippi.  He retired from R.R. Donnelly in Pontiac. He was affiliated with the Richards Street Baptist Church, and he enjoyed fishing up in Minnesota.

Memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
