Cheryl E. Higbie, 77 of Long Point passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday December 2, 2021.
A visitation will be held Friday (Dec. 10th) from 5 – 8 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday (Dec. 11th) at 11 AM at the Brush Arbor Meeting Cowboy Church, Long Point. Burial will be in the Long Point Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Vaughn, Tyler Elliott, Stanley Duda, Phillip Walk, Honorary will be CJ Elliott and mark Williams.
Cheryl was born on November 4, 1944 to John and Cleo (Monts) Olesen Sr. she married Richard Higbie on December 14, 1978. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2018.
Surviving are sons, Jeffery Vaughn Elliott and Steven Paul Elliott both of Naples, FL, stepchildren Richard (Carol) Higbie Jr. of Pontiac, Dale (Cindy) Higbie of Ventura, CA, Randy (Cheryl) Higbie of Denton, TX, Scott Higbie of Denton, TX, Alicia (Nick) Hall of Denver, CO, 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, sister Marilyn Sugg of Streator and brother, John Olesen Jr.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, step father Vaughn Donahue, her husband Dick, 1st husband Gary Elliott, brothers, Michael Donahue and George Olesen and daughter-in-law Tami Higbie.
Cheryl graduated from Streator High School and was a member of the Brush Arbor Cowboy Church, Long Point and was a former member of the Central Church of Christ being active with the Bethlehem Walk and the Bible Study for many years. She served as a Cub Scout Leader and a board member of the Long Point Village. Cheryl would personally keep the Long Point Park clean and planted flowers. She was involved with mission work in the Dominican Republic and the Guardian Angel.
