Christine Cripe

Christine Cripe, 74 of Streator passed away Friday (September 30, 2022) at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.

Private family services will be held with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW at Riverview Cemetery.

Chris was born on June 16, 1948, in Terre Haute, IN to Freddie and Barbara (Deuster) Clark.  She married Gary Cripe on May 3, 1975.  He preceded her in death on August 4, 2018.

Surviving is, daughter, Theresa (Jerry Libby) Cripe of Streator, grandchildren, Ashley and James Pierson and Lilly C.M. Libby, great grandchildren, Tatianna, London and Maci, nephew Lucas Britt, along with other nieces and nephews, brother Harold Clark of the Philippines, sisters Joann (Calvin) Britt and Barbara Ruiz both of Missouri and her beloved dog Lexi.

She is preceded in death by her parents, several aunts, and uncles, including a special Aunt Margaret.

Chris graduated from Arcola High School and Cosmetology School in LaSalle.  She proudly served in the US Navy.  Chris retired from the Dwight Illinois Department of Corrections teaching Cosmetology.  She was an animal lover, enjoyed scrapbooking, reading Harry Potter books, watching “I Love Lucy” shows and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Chris was a member of the former St. Anthony’s Church and currently St. Michael the Archangel Church.
