Daniel D. Crabtree

Daniel Dale Crabtree, 44 of Streator passed away Wednesday morning (January 10, 2024) at his home.

Following cremation, a visitation will be held Tuesday (Jan. 16^th) from 5 – 7 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home and Wednesday (Jan. 17^th) from 10 – 11 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at the church with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.

Dan was born on February 27, 1979, in Streator to Dwight and Karen (Gautschy) Crabtree.

He is survived by his mother Karen Crabtree of Streator, brother Michael (Kayleigh Rhodenbaugh) Crabtree of Chillicothe, nephews William Thomas and Edward Martin Crabtree, Uncle Robert “Bud” (Mary Lynn) Gautschy of Streator, aunts, Kay (Ken) Lynch of Virginia, Nancy (Ben) Gardner of Virginia and Beth (Jeff) Hickey of Peru and several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father and a uncle Randy Gautschy.

Dan attended Streator Grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1997.  He attended IVCC.  He was employed with Zip-Pac in Ottawa.  Dan served in the US Army during Iraq stationed in Germany.  He enjoyed playing darts and was a Cardinal Fan, watching movies and spending time with friends at local establishments.  Dan was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
