David L. Lesak

David L. Lesak, 83 of Ancona passed away Thursday morning (August 24^th) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

A visitation will be held Monday from 9 – 11 AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Monsignor Philip Halfacrer officiating.   Burial will be in the Defenbaugh Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Barbour, Ryan Wendt, Spencer Lesak, Marion Johnson, Adam and Matt McMullen.

David was born on July 12, 1934 in Streator to Edward and Violet (Ross) Lesak.  He married Carol Walters on April 24, 1956.  She survives.

Also surviving is a daughter Cheryl (Patrick) Barbour of Malden, sons Robert Lesak of Elgin, Donald (Kim) Lesak of Delavan, WI and William Lesak of Streator, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, a sister Ruth Ann Bentley of Puyallup, WA, brother Dale (Sharon) Lesak of Streator and a niece and a nephew.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 grandchildren.

David graduated from Streator High School in 1952 and worked as a millwright and retired from American National Can Company in Woodstock.  He enjoyed camping and snowmobiling.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
