She attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1965. She received her RN degree from Illinois Valley Community College and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital after 32 years of doing what she loved – taking care of others.

Surviving are her daughters Jayne Williams of Huntington Beach, CA and Krista (Mike) Skien of Bushnell, IL, son Bernard (Amy Hallowell) Minkler Jr. of Streator, 10 grandchildren – Jordan (Laura) Flex, Morgan (Kyle) Flex Siebert, Natalie (William) Flex Bessler, Joshua (Yvette) Williams, Matthew (Reilly) McNamara-Williams and Michael Williams, Cara and Alyssa Minkler, Nick (Kelsey Pieper) Burr and Alayna Burr, 9 great grandchildren, her brother, Donald (Angie) Gaddis of Spring Valley, nephew Bill Schubert of Streator and her beloved dog, Neelha Ruby.

She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Donald Gaddis, sister and brother-in-law Sally and Ron Lorey, brother Stanley Artman and her daughter, Julie Lauriston.

Dayle was a resilient and courageous woman who dedicated her life to caring for her four small children after they lost their father. Birthdays, Christmases, and Sunday dinners were vital and celebrated fully in the Minkler household, as well as volunteering in her children’s youth sports leagues and activities. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and the Streator Eagles Club, and she loved reading, gardening, and Sudoku puzzles.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
