Dennis G. Henert

Dennis G. Henert, 73 of Streator and a resident of the Flanagan Rehabilitation Health Care passed away Sunday evening (Feb. 3^rd) at OSF St. James Hospital, Pontiac.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday (March 16, 2019) from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Central Church of Christ, Streator with burial at a later date in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.  The Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Dennis was born on February 26, 1945 in Rochelle to Roland H. and Lucille (R. (Danekas) Henert.  He married Pauline Melrose on April 14, 1973.  She survives.

Also surviving are children Randall (Kim) Henert of Streator, Roland “Bugs” Henert of Streator and Shelly Hoisington of Streator, 7 grandchildren and a brother Verlis (Janet) Henert of Missouri.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Dennis graduated from the Ashton High School in 1963 and was a self employed farmer and race horse trainer.  He loved attended auctions and going to the county fairs.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Flanagan Rehabilitation Health Care Center.
