Dennis "Denni" Jean Hovious

Dennis “Denni” J. Hovious, 79 of Streator passed away Thursday morning (February 9, 2023) at Heritage Health, Streator.

A visitation will be held Monday from 4 – 6 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 6 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date.

Denni was born on June 15, 1943 in Trafalgar, IN to William and Nadine (Shaffer) McNeely.  She married Mike Hovious on August 13, 1967.  He preceded her in death on October 22, 2006.

Surviving are sons, Mark (Sheryl) Hovious of Collinsville and Nathan (Jennifer) Hovious of Streator, grandchildren; Kelli (Noah) Crist, Stephanie (Tyler) Kolteit, Stone Hovious, Dylan (Kaylee) Hovious, Joshua Rosebaum and Dillion Rosebaum, great grandchildren, Laila and Cash Kolteit, sisters, Sally (Paul) Sturgell of Trafalgar, IN and Lee (Karl) Parsons of Coal Camp, MO.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Mike.

Denni graduated from Trafalgar High School 1961 and Eureka College in 1965.  She retired from teaching in area schools.  Denni was a member of the Trafalgar Christian Church, Streator Eagles Club, Streator VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Streator Unlimited.
