Dolores “Dodie†Jane Griffin, 55 of Streator passed away Wednesday (Feb. 19th) at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-6:30PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 6:30PM at the funeral home with cremation rites following services.
Burial will be in Dana Cemetery at a later date.
Dodie was born April 29, 1958 in Streator, IL to Ollie Reese and Joyce (Fryman) Griffin.
Surviving is her father, Ollie Griffin of Garfield, mother Joyce (Bernard) Bednar of Streator, half sister, Jenny ( Bryon Williamson) Richards, step-brother, Thomas (Renee) Bednar of Streator, and step- sister, Sharon Bednar of Streator, 12 nieces and nephews, her dog Digger who she loved like her child and her lifelong friend, Cheri Meyers and her family.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Griffin and step-sister, Mary Beth Bednar Denton.
She was affiliated with the Church of the Open Bible and attended Dana grade school and Streator High School. She was a school bus driver for many years, transporting special needs children and enjoyed motorcycling, horseback riding and her dogs.
Memorials may be directed to the family of Dodie Griffin or to Streator Unlimited.
