Dominic "Nick" Harold Younker, 60
Of Streator
Passed away Friday afternoon (Jul. 17) at his home.
A visitation will be held Wednesday (Jul.22) from 9:30-11:30AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Services will be held Wednesday (Jul. 22) at 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Streator VFW Post #1492 and the Streator American Legion Post #217.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce and Jason Hjerpe, Cody Dunning, Doug Reynolds, Ron Westerhold, and Gary Keist. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Cook and Nicholas Haslett.
He was born September 27, 1948 in Chicago to Harold and Elaine (Christensen) Younker.
He married Suzanne Hjerpe on August 12, 1968. She survives.
Surviving are his wife, Daughter, Angela (Fiance Gary Keist) Haslett of Bloomington, Sister, Julie Reynolds, Brother, Mike Younker, Grandsons, Cody Dunning and Nicholas Haslett, 5 Brother-in-laws, Bruce, Paul , Jerry, and Chuck Hjerpe, and Doug Reynolds, 4 Sister-in-laws, Donna, Kelly, and Rozanne Hjerpe and Marigayle Sena.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Son, Robert Younker, 2 sisters, 2 Brother-in-laws, and his Father-in-law.
He attended St. Anthony Grade School and Streator High School.
He attended St. Anthony's Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1969-1971.
He worked as a maintenance mechanic at Carriage House Company in Streator, IL.
He then worked at Thatcher's Glass for 26 years also as a maintenance mechanic.
