Donald L. Salisbury

Donald L. Salisbury, 68 of Streator passed away Friday morning (August 19^th) from injuries received in an accident in Glenwood Springs, CO.

A visitation will be held Saturday from 12noon until 3 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Services will be held Saturday at 3 PM at the funeral home with cremation rites following services.   Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Don was born on September 15, 1947 in Streator to Henry and Ethel (Legare) Salisbury.  He married Melody Vernoy on March 7, 1986.  She preceded him in death on June 16, 2016.

Surviving are daughters, Louwanna (David) Frickey of Streator, Debbie Salisbury of Streator, Linda Salisbury of Streator and Donna (Larry) Finney of Streator, Step-children, Mary (Tim) Sterling of Streator, James (Trisha) Martin Jr of Marseilles and Peggy Martin of Marseilles, 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, sisters, Rosemary (John) Olesen of Streator, Mary Lou (Earl) Cox of Ashland, TN, Donna Mc Reynolds of Streator, Beatrice Salisbury of Streator, brothers, Perry (Leslie) Salisbury of Streator, Ronald (Vicki) Salisbury of Streator and David (Blanca) Salisbury of Oceanside, CA and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother Francis and a sister Marlene.

Don attended the Kangley Grade School and Ottawa High School.  He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad in Sept. of 2007.  Don enjoyed going camping, fishing, hunting boating and especially gardening.
