Donna Jean Friede, 84 of Streator passed away Thursday morning (Aug. 4th) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 9-11AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Monday at 11AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date.
Donna was born on March 26, 1927 in Streator to Charles and Goldie (Wilsman) Carpenter.
She married Robert P. Friede on May 18, 1946. He passed away April 20, 2003.
Surviving are sons, Charles P. (Carmen) Friede of Streator, Robert R. (Linda) Friede of Minnesota, and Jerry D. (Babette) Friede of Dayton, IL, 5 grandchildren, Jessica, James S.., Matthew, and Brian Friede, and Stephanie Rice, 4 great-grandchildren, Madolyn, Jake, Kevin and Breah Friede, and 5 great-great grandchildren, Conner, Tige, Gavin, and Theron Rice, and Caiden Harden, and sister-in-law, Wilma Carpenter.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, 1 granddaughter, Emily Jean Friede, brother Harold, and twin brother Donald Carpenter, and sister-in-law, Verniece Carpenter.
She attended Streator High School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed at Owen's Illinois Glass and St. Mary's Hospital in Streator for 25 years.
Donna was an avid bingo player and loved crocheting.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
