Earl J. Williams, 74 of Normal and formerly of Streator and Morris passed away Saturday morning July 6th, 2013 at his home.
A visitation will be held Wednesday July 10, 2013 from 4- 8PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 10, 2013 at 7PM with full military honors following services conducted by the Streator American Legion and VFW. Cremation rites following the services.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his 6 grandchildren.
Earl was born on May 18, 1939 in Streator, Illinois to Earl F. and Florence (Carpenter) Williams. He is survived by his wife Diane (Kasha) Williams whom he married on May 27, 1961.
He is survived by his children, Lisa (Charles) Dunning of Marseilles, Kevin (Lynda) Williams of Long Point, Brian (Tina) Williams of Wichita Falls, TX. 6 grandchildren, Lindsay Middleton, Kristin (late Timothy) Williford both of Marseilles, Steven (fiance’ Ashley) Williams of Bloomington, Jonathon Williams of Stevens Point, WI, Brandon and Brittney Williams of Wichita Falls, TX, 3 great-grandchildren, Kaylin and Logan Middleton and Zachary Williford all of Marseilles, brother Darrell “Butch†Williams of Streator, aunt Leona Obert of Streator, special friend his dog Sweetheart and many true friends.
He his preceded in death by his parents, sister Donna Danekas, brother James in infancy, and grandson in law Timothy Williford.
Earl attended Flanagan Grade School and Streator High School. He served in the US Air Force from 1956 to 1961 as a jet engine mechanic. He was formerly employed at Owens Illinois Glass and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital in maintenance. He was a member of the Streator American Legion Post 217 and VFW Post 1492, Streator AmVets, Streator Knights of Columbus, Eagles, Morris Moose Lodge, Braidwood Lions Club, ABATE of Grundy and McLean Counties and a member of the former St. Anthony Church.
Earl enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
