Elinor M. Holcomb

Elinor Mae Holcomb, 91, of Streator passed away Monday (January 18) at her home.

Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Emery Green Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be son Randy, grandson Randall Rodrick, and great-grandsons Dakota and Andrew Darling, Mason, Tyler and Isaac Lehman.

Elinor was born on May 29, 1929 in Streator to Floyd and Goldie (Dodge) Leslie. She married Cecil C. Rodrick on July 21, 1947 and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1977. She later married Joel C. Holcomb on November 27, 1982 and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2010.

She is survived by her children, Margie (Joe) Bellis of Streator, Phillip (Julia) Rodrick of Springfield, Barbara Lopez of Marseilles, David Rodrick of Streator, Richard Rodrick of Taylorville, and Randy Rodrick of Streator, stepsons Edward (Brigette) Rodrick of Florida, Bill (Jenny) Rodrick of Tonica and Step-son Ken (Delia) Holcomb of Grand Ridge, sisters Donna Casey, Carolyn Kendall, and Joan (Dave) Ostring all of Streator, several nieces and nephews, 27 grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Elinor is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter Linda Rodrick, stepsons James, Cecil Jr., and Tom, brothers, Robert, Raymond, Ronald, Donald, Max, Paul, Albert, and John, sisters, Beverly Antolik, Mable Day, Dorothy McDonald, Irene Easterday, and Betty Kendall.

Elinor attended Grant Grade School. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ and Loyal Order of the Eastern Star.

Memorials may be made in her name to Streator Unlimited or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
