Elizabeth Mary Ellen Skaggs

Elizabeth “Betty” Mary Ellen Skaggs, 85 of Streator passed away Wednesday morning (April 1st) at Heritage Health and Rehabilitation Care Center where she is finally with the love of her life George after 41 yrs.
A visitation will be held Monday from 10 – 12 Noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Monday at Noon at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Ancona Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Joe Fletcher, Jonathan Fletcher, Kevin Skaggs and Scott Skaggs, great-grandsons Cole Fletcher, Andrew Berg and Brendan Decker.
Betty was born on April 5, 1929 in Streator to Edward and Lula (Gibson) Huber.  She married George Luther Skaggs on July 27, 1948 and he passed away on February 23, 1974.
Surviving are children, Randall George (Debbie) Skaggs of Hurst, TX, Kevin Michael (Doreen) Skaggs of Streator and Lori Ann (Tony) Mateer of Streator, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are sisters Ellie (Ed) Williams of Streator and Marjorie Kramer of Arizona.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Kristine Mary Ellen White, sons Steven Robert and James Anthony Skaggs and several brothers and sisters.
She attended Streator Grade schools and high school and was formerly employed at Owen’s Illinois Glass and Food Expo and was a homemaker while raising 6 children.  Betty was an avid reader, professional scratch off lotto player and enjoyed cooking for the holidays and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson Disease Foundation.
