Emma L. Griffith, 74 of Streator passed away Sunday afternoon (Nov. 13th) at St. Mary's Hospital.
Following cremation rites a graveside service will be held Thursday at 11AM at Phillips Cemetery. Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Emma was born on August 8, 1937 in Reading, IL to William R. and Sophia M. (Baker) Wilkerson. She married J.C. Griffith Sr. on July 22, 1955 he passed away on Dec. 11, 1991.
Surviving are sons Steven (Sue) Griffith of Seymour, IN, J.C. (Connie) Griffith Jr., of Streator, daughter, Sheryl (Tom) Stasko of Streator, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, sisters, Edith Wilkerson of Streator, Thelma Farero of CA, brother Claude Wilkerson of KY, several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Vela Hogue, Sonia Reed, Donna Towner and Alice Wilkerson, brothers, Richard, Darrell, Gerald, Willis, John and Denis Wilkerson.
Emma attended Streator Grade Schools, and was formerly employed at Thatcher Glass and Tuscarora Plastics. She is a member of the Streator Moose Lodge, Moose Heart, Streator Eagles Club. She was an avid bowler and belonged to several city bowling leagues and Church of the Nazarene.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donors' choice.
