Esther J. Decker

Esther J. Decker, 94 of Streator passed away Friday (November 15, 2019) at Heritage Health and Rehabilitation Care Center.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 – 12 noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Callister officiating.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Esther was born on January 31, 1925 in Minonk to Theodore and Marie (Harms) Budde.  She married Harold L. Decker on March 13, 1949.  He preceded her in death on August 19, 1979.

Surviving are children Lila Decker of Streator, Ted (Cristyl) Decker of Streator, grandsons Jared and Rocco Decker, brother Henry (Linda) Budde of Minonk, sister Hilda Oltman of Streator and sister-in-law Darlene Budde of Dana.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter and son in law Betty and Carl Lang, brother Herman Budde, sisters Bertha (Jack) Decker and Amelia (Carl) Janssen.

Esther was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Altar Guild of the church.  She was a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed playing cards.

Memorials may be made to the Heritage Health and Rehabilitation Care Center activity fund.
