Ethel G. Ehlbeck, 102 of St. Charles and formerly of Streator passed away Monday evening (February 20th) at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 11-1PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator.
An Eastern Star ritual will be held Thursday at 12:45PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Ethel was born on February 13, 1910 in Ophir Township in LaSalle County to Joseph and Nettie (Day) Geil.
She married Merwyn W. Ehlbeck on August 2, 1930 in Peoria, IL. He passed away February 21, 1989.
Surviving is sister-in-law, Lois Ehlbeck of Freeport, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Mabel Scott and Theda Christofferson, brothers, Edward, Leo, Wilbert, and Vernon Geil.
She was a member of Park Presbyterian Church in Streator where she served as treasurer for 9 years. She also served as treasurer for the Presbyterian Women Circles.
She was employed for 22 years at Streator National Bank. Ethel was a 60 year member and past Matron and instructress of the Order of the Eastern Star and Joppa Shrine #54 W.S.J. and a former member of St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary.
Memorials may be directed to Park Presbyterian Church or the donor's choice.
