Faye Ardith Sloan, 88, of Long Point passed away Monday (May 20, 2013) at Capitol Healthcare in Springfield.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12Noon until 2PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 2PM.
Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dean, Chad, Jeremy Lehman, Darrin Brandon Moran, Travis Stimpert, and nephew, William Zeilman.
Faye was born on November 14, 1924 in Reading Township to George and Sarah (Shaw) Zeilman.
She married Charles Sloan, Jr. on June 22, 1947. He passed away December 13, 1994.
Surviving are children, Linda Sloan, Ottawa, Cheryl Edwards, Dayton, OH, Peggy Stimpert, Long Point, Charles Patrick (Leslie) Sloan, Mountainburg, AR, Douglas (Debbie) Sloan, Palatine, and Jacqueline (Ritch) Davis, Springfield, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson, brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Josephine Sloan, Streator, and sisters-in-law Frances Moore and Sally St. Clair and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, son, Kevin Lee, six brothers, and six sisters.
Faye attended Ancona and Long Point grade schools and graduated from Long Point High School in 1942. Although she loved being employed at Boeing Airplane Company, KS during WWII, Owens Glass and Valley View Dirt and Gravel, she most enjoyed her many years as a homemaker. Faye was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
