Frederic P. Nolder, 76, of Las Vegas, formerly of Streator, passed away Nov. 9th, 2017 at Infinity Hospice in Las Vegas. He had been ill.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday (June 2nd) from 10:30 until 12 noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 12 noon at the funeral home with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Fred was born Oct. 8, 1941 in Bloomington, IL to Archie and Mary (Bratcher) Nolder.
He attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator Township High School. He furthered his education at Southern Illinois University with as Associates Degree. After college he moved to Chicago and lived there over 40 years. He was in the placement of windows in building structures. Fred left that profession and owned and ran several taverns in downtown Chicago among them were the Black Sheep and St. Louis Browns, upon retirement, he moved back to Streator for 10 years and then to Las Vegas to be with his sister and family.
He was a true Chicagoan in that “his love for the Bears”, he never gave up on them, 1985 was his favorite year.
Fred is survived by his sister Faye (David) Geiger, nephew Fred Geiger, niece Brandi Geiger, uncle Donald Bratcher, of Bloomington, IL, 4 great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
