Frederick D. Missel, 74 of Streator passed away Friday morning (Dec. 7th, 2012) at St. Mary's Hospital.
Private family services will be held at Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Fred was born June 24, 1938 in Streator, IL to Eugene and Dorothy (Wolfe) Missel.
He married Joyce Guy on February 20, 1959 in Hardenville, IL. She survives.
Also surviving is son, Douglas Missel and daughter, Jamie Irvin both of Streator, 4 grandchildren, Adam and Andrea Missel and Marcus (Crystal) Irvin and Mariah Irvin all of Streator, 1 great-grandson, Bentley Missel, father, Eugene Missel of Streator, sister, Marsha Pence of Streator and brothers, Robert and Kenneth Missel both of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his mother, daughter, Julie Kay Missel in infancy, and brother Kevin Missel.
Fred attended Wilson grade school and graduated from Woodland High School in 1956. He retired from Streator Implement and was a member of Central Church of Christ and a former member of the Wisemen at the Streator YMCA.
Memorials may be directed to Central Church of Christ.
