Gerald A Dodge

Gerald A. Dodge, 84 of Streator passed away Thursday April 1, 2021 surrounded by his family at home.

Private family graveside services will be held at St. Stephen’s Cemetery with military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.

Gerald was born on December 11, 1936 in Streator to Gerald R. and Elanor (Guy) Dodge.  He married Evelyn Bessermin on February 4, 1961.  She survives.

Also surviving are sons, Mike, David (Sonya) and Steve Dodge, grandsons Broc and Camden Dodge and his beloved/companion dog Rusty.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son Brian.

Gerald attended the Plumb grade school and graduated from Streator High School in 1956.  He served in the US Navy and retired from American Buildings Company, El Paso.  Gerald was a member of the Streator Am Vets, Knights of Columbus, Streator Eagles Club, Lazy Acres.  He was also a volunteer with the AmVets and at the LaSalle County Veterans Home.  Gerald enjoyed woodworking, telling jokes, bird watching, fishing, outdoor grilling and mostly spending time with his grandsons and was very proud of whatever they did.
