Gilbert L. Bridgeforth

Gilbert L. Bridgeforth, 71 of Rutland passed away Tuesday evening (Sept. 22nd) at his home.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5 - 8PM at the WInterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Garner officiating. Burial will be in Rutland Cemetery, Rutland, IL. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Brandon and Brian Meredith, David Arnedt, Joe and Steven Peek, Dane and Tony Lynch.
Born September 10, 1938 in Oxley, MO to Rex and Mary (Gamblin) Bridgeforth. Married Helen Crew on October 11, 1956, she survives.
Also surviving are, Son, Tom Bridgeforth of Peoria, Daughters, Jan Cosby of Ottawa, Joan (Daniel) Peek of Streator and Amy Park of Pontiac, 14 Grandchildren and 38 Great-grandchildren, Brother, Robert (Pat) Bridgeforth of Xenia, IL, Step-brother, Dean (Debbie) Davis of Fairdealing MO, Sisters, Fay Lingle of Minonk, Fanny Bridgeforth of Streator, Sadie (Gary) Darm of Streator, Elsie (Bob) Kline of Dana.
He is preceded in death by, son, Bill, 2 great-granddaughters, Brothers, Ernest, Ray and Carl, Sister, Rose Gilbert, Step-mother, Flora Mae Bridgeforth.
He retired from the Minonk Bakery, Truck Driving, and as a welder. He attended Rutland Grade School.
