Glenn "Bud" J. Garretson

Glenn “Bud” J. Garretson, 91 of Streator passed away Wednesday evening (Jan. 7th) at St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 – 6 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Cornell Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cole, Jeff, Justin, Jordan Garretson, Brian and Chad Pecka, Troy Calandra and Justin Jakubcin.  Honorary will be Nick Calandra, Jacob, Luke and Jerry Garretson.
Glenn was born on May 8, 1923 in rural Cornell to Glen Harold and Beulah (Shoemaker) Garretson.  He married Alda Marie Simpson on March 3, 1945 she passed away on May 17, 2009.
Surviving are children Gerald (Carole) Garretson, Streator, Glenda (Bruce) Pecka, DeKalb, Janice (Robert) Garretson-Jakubcin, Denver, CO, Thomas (Kathy) Garretson, Whitefish, MT, Bonita (Ronald) Calandra, Scottsdale, AZ, Troy Garretson, Carl Junction, MO and Todd (Christine) Garretson, Peru, IL, 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, sister Alice (Robert) Schaefer, Streator and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Lisa, brothers Kenneth and Charles and sister Anita Paul.
Glenn farmed for 66 years in the Streator area and was on the LaSalle County Board for 18yrs, a distributor with Archer Oil Co for 25 yrs and Pfister Hybrids for 30 yrs.
Glenn attended Cornell Grade School and graduated from the Cornell High School in 1941 and was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church Streator.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors’ choice.
