Gregory Lee Sauers

Gregory Lee Sauers, 56 of Streator passed away Friday afternoon (September 29, 2023) at his home.

Following cremation, a visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30AM until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Services will be held at noon at the funeral home with burial to follow in Riverview Cemetery.

Greg was born October 6, 1966, in Streator to John A. and Agnes “Aggie” (Handzus) Sauers.  He married Kathleen Quandt on February 17, 1990.  She survives.

Also surviving are sons, Dr. Logan (Nicole Campbell) of Manchester, England and Adam of Streator, his mother Aggie Sauers of Streator, sisters, Kathy (Jack) Lucas of Streator and Beth (Jerry) Cravatta of Streator, brother, John (Tina) Sauers of Streator, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Kris and Frank Martin of Streator and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father a brother Mark In infancy and his in laws Donald and Harriet Quandt.

Greg graduated from St Anthony’s Grade School, Streator High School in 1984 and attended IVCC.

He was employed with the Farnsworth Group in Bloomington.  Greg enjoyed fishing, playing cards and traveling with family and was a former member of the former St. Anthony’s Church.

Memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
