Grover Loyd Moore

May 6, 1925 — December 10, 2020

Grover Loyd Moore, 95 of Streator passed away Thursday (December 10, 2020) at OSF St. James Hospital, Pontiac.

Private family services were held at the Winterrowd Funeral Home and full military honors were conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Josh Simpson, Rick Franklin, Shane and Thad Spellious, Robert Frias and Michael Robinson.

Grover was born on May 6, 1925 in Chester, IL to Isaac Grover and Katie (Williams) Moore.  He married Frances Corbin in 1979 and she preceded him in death on September 26, 2002.  He later married Linda Simpson on August 10, 2007.  She survives.

Also surviving are sons David Sunnen of Manville, Jimmy Moore of Tennessee, Jeff (Candice) Rose of Streator and Darlene (Junior) Hooper of Erin, TN, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Frances and a daughter in law Shelly Sunnen, daughters, Wilma Hirschman and Jeannie Terry.

Grover has served in the US Navy during WWII and retired from Libby Owens Ford in Ottawa.  He was a member of the Ottawa VFW.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
