Harold L. Ehlers, 81 of Streator passed away Tuesday morning (August 13, 2013) at Seasons Hospice in Naperville.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 9-11AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:30AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church.
Harold was born on September 30, 1931 in Streator, Illinois to John and Dora (Brown) Ehlers.
He married Ruth Smith on April 17, 1950. She passed away October 25, 2007.
Surviving are children, Steven (Cissie) Ehlers of Hickory, NC, Kristy Toplak, Kimberly Williamson, and Terry Ehlers all of Aurora, and Tammy (Patrick) Butler of Hudson, NC, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brother, John Ehlers, Jr. of TX and sister, Mima Kent of Washington State.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Floyd and Charles Ehlers, and sisters, Irene Larsen, Frances Wargo, Evelyn Cota, and in infancy Mildred Ehlers.
Harold graduated from Streator High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, member of St. Michael the Archangel Church and Streator VFW post #1492.
He was a manager at Thatcher’s Glass in Streator.
