Hazel A. Benstine, 84 of Streator passed away Sunday morning (Feb. 3rd) at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10AM until 11AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pall bearers will be David Cowlin, Pat Hatzer, Ron Widman, Scott Lucas, Dick Huffines, Jim Riordan, Jessie Chainey, Tom Wissen, Paul Cinnamon, and Walter Roach, Jr.
Hazel was born on October 13, 1928 in Iaeger, W. Virginia to Gerald and Mae (Kennedy) Walker.
She married Paul Benstine in 1946. He passed away in 1996.
Surviving is son, John “Benny†Benstine of Streator, 2 granddaughters, Cara (David) Cowlin of Indianapolis, and Kelly Gallick of Champaign, and 4 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Charlie, and Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Patricia Hohman of California in 2009.
Hazel attended grade schools in W. Virginia and High School in Welch, W. Virginia. She retired from Owens Illinois Glass after 36 years. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri, Mississippi, and California.
