Hazel C. Stone

Hazel C. Stone, 92 of Streator passed away Monday morning (December 28^th) at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa.

A visitation will be held Thursday (Dec. 31^st) from 2 – 4 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 4 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery following cremation.

Hazel was born on June 16, 1923 in Garfield, IL to Ben and Hattie (Dodge) Wissen.  She married Virgil Stone on January 20, 1944.  He preceded her in death on January 17, 1990.

Surviving are daughter, Ruth Ann Snyder of Streator, 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Ronald and George, 1 grandson, brothers Clarence and Wilber, sisters Grace, Mabel, Vacle and Lillian.

Hazel was formerly employed at Owens Illinois Glass and Thatcher Glass.  She attended grade school at the Wilson, Plumb and Garfield Grade Schools.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Disabled American Veterans Program.
