Helen A. (Crew) Bridgeforth

Helen A. Bridgeforth, 84 of Rutland passed away Saturday (March 26, 2022) surrounded by her family at her home.

A visitation will be held Thursday from 10AM until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at noon at the funeral home with burial following in the Rutland Cemetery, Rutland.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen was born on December 31, 1937, in Streator to John Edward and Hazel (Jenkins) Crew.  She married Gilbert L. Bridgeforth on October 11, 1956.  He preceded her in death on September 22, 2009.

Surviving are daughters, Jan Cosby of Rutland, Joan Peek of Wenona and Amy Park of Wenona, 14 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert, 2 sons, Bill and Thomas, 3 great-grandchildren and she was the last of 14 children who all preceded her in death.

Helen attended Varna Grade School and retired as a CNA from Heritage Manor in El Paso.  She enjoyed crafting, baking, gardening, flowers and bird watching.

Memorials may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
