James F. Brooke

James F. “Brooksey” Brooke, 73 of Streator passed away Tuesday (February 21^st) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington with his family at his side.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 – 5 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday at 5 PM at the funeral home with cremation rites following services.

Jim was born on July 1, 1943 in Streator to Joseph and Celia (Fairbanks) Brooke.  He married Lois Dutko on February 10, 1971.  She survives.

Also surviving are daughters Teresa Brooke of Bellville and Jamie (Bojan) Petrovich of New York, beloved dog Scooter, grandchildren Marlee (Jack) Hays, Richard Steen, Amina Irwin and Luka Petrovich,2 grand dogs Sadee and Diamond Hays,  brothers Joseph Brooke of Streator, Thomas Brooke of Missouri and Charles Theisinger of Wyoming, sisters Betty Hannula of Wisconsin, Judith Downey, Diane Miller and Bonnie Theisinger all of Streator, Sharon LaVasseur of Missouri, Susan Brooke of Wisconsin, Mary Copeland of Maryland, RoseAnne Brooke of Missouri.

He is preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Grace Brooke, sisters Elsie Hill and Margaret Brooke, brother-in-law “fishing buddy” Robert Downey and his beloved grand dog Kane.

Jim attended Streator Schools and was a member of the Lazy Acres Sportmans Club and retired after 42 yrs at Owens Illinois Glass.

Memorials may be made in his name to either American Lung Association or American Diabetes Foundation.
