James âBudâ W. Webb, 94 of Blackstone passed away Saturday morning (Aug.23rd) at Parker Nursing Home in Streator.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 9 â 11 AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Blackstone Cemetery.
James was born on March 18, 1920 in Ohio, IL to Delbert and Cecilia (Rauch) Webb. He married Vera Wirschling on September 14, 1947 and she survives.
Also surviving are daughters Penny Stricklin of N. Little Rock, Arkansas, Beverly (Skeeter) Concienne of Louisiana, son William Webb of Pontiac, grandchildren, Christopher, Misty, TJ, Jenny and Joey and several great-grandchildren.
James is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Suzanne, sisters Beatrice Simons, Etta Hoag and Sally Blyth.
He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and served for 7 years in the US Marines during WWII. Bud retired from Owens Illinois Glass in 1982 and was a life member of the Streator VFW Post 1492 and served as the 1st president of the Sandyford Sportsman Club. He served several years on the Blackstone Cemetery Board and was a member of the former Blackstone United Methodist Church.
