James F. Dignan

James F. Dignan, 74 of Streator, passed away Friday (Sept. 18th) at his home.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5 - 8PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Stalker officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Murphy Jr., Ken Murphy, Travis Essman, John Davis Jr., Toby Russow, and Mike Burkett.
Born November 27, 1934 in Streator, IL to Fred and Lydia (Reick) Dignan. Married Frances Pulliam on September 5, 1953, she survives.
Surviving are, Daughters, Cheryl (Terry) Murphy , Susanne Quaka, Son, Jamey Dignan all of Streator,
5 grandchildren, Terry Murphy Jr., Melissa Negray, Ken Murphy, Amanda Davis, Devin Dignan and 6 Great-grandchildren, Mother-in-law, Velma Pulliam of Streator.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sister, Delores Dignan and 1 great-grandson Kenneth Murphy Jr.
He retired from Northern Illinois Gas Co after 36 years, graduated from Streator High School in 1952, member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
In life Jim had a great love for his family and friends. He loved the outdoors, sitting along his property on the river and drinking a few cold beers. Jim would love when other family and friends would come by and join him for a weekend of horseshoes, fishing, boating, or just sitting around the campfire reminiscing about old times and the good times to come. In Jim's early years he was avid horseback rider. Jim will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
