James P. Putman

James P. Putman, 72 of Elgin and formerly of Streator passed away Sunday (September 10^th) in Cleveland, Ohio.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 – 6 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Tom, David, Shane and Jarrod Putman, Ken Clevenger, AJ Chiodo and Jeff Davis.

Jim was born on October 30, 1944 in Evansville, IN to Paul and Josephine (Bolander) Putman.  He married Doris Ann Davis on May 5, 1963.  She preceded him in death on December 5, 2013.

Surviving are sons James (Shea) Putman of Crystal Lake and Brian (Shelly) Putman of Streator, 7 grandchildren Tom Putman, David (Amber) Putman, Samantha Davis, James Putman, Sarah (AJ) Chiodo, Shane Putman and Jarrod Putman, 6 step-grandchildren Tony, Marc, Jessica, Andrew and Jeffery Lamango and Ashley Calkins, 14 great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Madison, Isabelle, Emmalynn, Payton, Sadie, Piper, Carson, Michael, Krillin, Jesslynn, Theron, Brody and Danny, brother Ken (Peggy Sue) Clevenger of Nashville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother Bob Putman.

Jim graduated from Streator High School in 1962 and Midstate College in Peoria in finance.  He retired from Nam Co in Wood Dale, was of the Methodist faith, he also enjoyed watching and coaching any sports and his biggest hobby was dabbling in the stock market.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.
