Jean Ann Armstrong

September 30, 1938 — February 24, 2019

Jean Ann (Corrigan) Armstrong, 80, of Grand Ridge passed away peacefully on Sunday (February 24, 2019) at Pleasant View Lutheran Home, Ottawa, IL.

A private family mass will be said at St. Mary of the Fields, Grand Ridge and burial will be in the Grand Ridge Cemetery. The Grand Ridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jean was born September 30, 1938 in Grand Ridge to Frank and Luella (Nagle) Corrigan. She married Jack Armstrong on July 20, 1963. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2019. We know how happy they are to be together again so soon.

Jean is survived by a daughter, Julie (Mike) Stricklin of Grand Ridge, and grandson Jake (Jonni Rowe) of Grand Ridge, as well as her sisters and brothers-in-law, treasured nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Marty.

Jean graduated from Marquette High School in 1956. She was a legal secretary for Andrew J. O'Conor for many years, as well as working on the farm by Jack's side. She was a member of St. Mary of the Fields Church in Grand Ridge.

"And on the 9th day, God looked down on the world he had created and understood his farmer needed a partner who would work beside him in good times and bad - someone who would aid him in nurturing their land, family, friends, neighbors and community, so God made a farmer's wife."
