Jerome P. Sampson

Jerome P. Sampson, 80 of Streator passed away Wednesday (July 19, 2023) in Crystal River, FL.

Visitation will be held Friday (July 28^th) from 12noon until 1 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Friday 1PM at the funeral home with burial to follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.

Serving as pallbearers will be Marcus and Matthew Brewer, Alex, Cody, Jason Roach, and Ryan Mushro.

Jerry was born on July 22, 1942, in Streator to Paul and Ann K. (Ondrey) Sampson.

Surviving are son in law James Brewer of Streator, grandchildren, Nathan (Kourtney) Brewer, Matthew, and Marcus Brewer, 5 great grandchildren, Aunt Martha Roach of Streator, and several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather William Reed and daughter Gerri Lynn Brewer.

Jerry attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and Streator High School.  He served in the US Marines.

He retired from the Streator Police Department after 21 years.  Jerry was a member of St. Michael; the Archangel Church, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising, breeding and showing Rottweiler dogs.
