John R. Huff

John R. Huff, 79 of Streator passed away Thursday evening (January 14^th) at his home surrounded by his family.

A visitation will be held Sunday from 3 – 6 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday at 6 PM at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will follow services.

John was born on March 16, 1936 in Colfax, IL to Charlie and Georgia Belle (Robbins) Huff.  He married Sondra Malinowski on September 5, 1956.  She survives.

Also surviving are children Gary (Ruth) Huff of Streator, Robin (Brian) Galloway of Oglesby, grandchildren, Kayla (Dan Head) Cook, Christopher Huff, Kurt Cook Jr., Benjamin (Abby Danko) Huff, Hannah Huff and Marc Bucalo, great-grandchildren, Marcus Hunter, Da Mareea Hunter and Addyson Cook, brothers Charles Huff of Heyworth.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gilbert, Vernon and Robert, sisters, Esther Osley, Wanetta Steffen, Edna Huff, Mary Margaret Huff, Shirley Willan, Mareeta Huff, Arlene Huff.

John attended Bloomington Schools and retired after 37 years from Streator Dependable.  He enjoyed gardening and watching Nascar Racing.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed in his name to OSF Hospice Program or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
