John “Jack” E. Roach, 83 of Streator passed away Monday evening (January 2nd) at OSF ST. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
A visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 7 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 PM at the St. Michael the Archangel Church with cremation rites following services. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Adam, Alex, Cody and Jason Roach, Ryan Mushro and Forest West.
Jack was born July 23, 1933 in Streator to James Edward and Gertrude Marie (Green) Roach. He married Martha Ondrey on April 19, 1952. She survives.
Also surviving are children Randy (Jeanette Lee) Roach, Streator, Kristine (David) West, Kirkland, WA, Kyle (Angie) Roach, Streator Johnny (JeriLynn) Roach, Streator and Tamara (Mike) Mushro, Streator, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and twin brother Robert.
Jack attended Grant Grade School, St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in 1952.
He retired from Streator Drain Tile and Streator Brick and was former owner of the 820 Club and Capt-N Jacks Chicken Restaurant and lastly by the Times Press Newspaper. Jack was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Church and in his earlier years he coached youth baseball and football.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
