Lloyd "Pawp" Sellers was truly an example of how all of us should live our lives. Keep it simple and do not try too hard. He needed very little in his life and had no interest in traveling the world and he did not. He was a simple man, huge in patience, generosity, compassion, sincerity, love and later in life, hugs! The most important things to him were his wife, Janelle (Our Nan) of 62 years, his family, and his beloved town of Grand Ridge. His family and friends knew too often sometimes, that give him a project and he would do it, fix it, or pay for it. At the ripe old age of 29, he along with other residents and future charter members, under the direction of Everett Walter, created the Grand Ridge volunteer fire department. After working all day, they spent hours into the night and many free days in a small shed out near the present seed company and former Walter Seed Company, assembling the first fire engine for the small village. He was proud to have contributed to this effort and was the last surviving charter member from 1942. His spirit will live on in his beloved village of Grand Ridge, it's fire department, and his loving family. He and his huge hugs will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grand Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.
