   Joseph Mistekevic, 82 of Streator passed away Thursday (Apr. 12th) morning at his home after a short battle with Lung Cancer.
   A visitation will be held Saturday from 10-12 Noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
   Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon at the funeral home with military honors conducted by Streator VFW post #1492 and Streator American Legion post #217.
   Burial will be in The Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at a later date. with military honors conducted at the cemetery.
   Joseph was born on October 7, 1929 in Joliet, IL to Peter and Pauline (Kremka) Mistakevich.
   He married Ruth Aaron on April 1, 1975. She passed away on April 20, 2002.
   Surviving is daughter Tina (Kevin) Schiffbauer of Tonica, son Joseph (Guillermina Urquiza) Mistekevic, Jr. of Toluca, grandchildren, Jacob Hall of Streator, Allee Mistekevic of Nashville, TN, Joseph John Mistekevic II of Toluca, Amber Schiffbauer of Tonica, and Brooke Schiffbauer of Tonica, sister, Marge Hausfeld of CrestHill, IL and brother Charlie (Judy) Mistakevich of Lockport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth Mistekevic, brothers, John, Steve, George, and Mike Mistakevich, and sisters, Anna Molnar, Mary Gerat, and Helen Mistakevich.
   He served in the US Navy and Korean War 1947-1955. He was on the U.S. Leyete Carrier.
   He was of the Catholic faith. Joseph retired from Santa Fe Railroad in 1991 after 40 years of service.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
